Our Story

Hi, My name is Kyoko, and I am the owner and baker of Petite Sakura. I am originally from Japan but have been a Boston resident most of my life. I have always been passionate about food, culture, travel, and art. I enjoy learning about new foods, ways of cooking, and the history and culture behind them. Cooking has always been a passion of mine, and baking has become my creative outlet. I first started baking several years ago when I wanted to recreate the baked goods I had experienced in my travels, which were unavailable locally.

I take pride in using local and natural ingredients in my baking, and with my science background, I enjoy experimenting with flavors and techniques. As a big supporter of local small businesses and a long-time Boston and South End resident, I am proud to be part of the small businesses that make up this beautiful city and neighborhood. Seeing how my baked goods bring joy and happiness to those who eat them is incredibly rewarding.

When not baking, I enjoy spending time with my rescue Mana and my human family. I also love to travel and hike and am always planning my next adventure!
